Introduction
Based on the Water Resources Development and Management Plans (WRDMPs), developed by the respective river basin agencies, the state is responsible for preparing state water resources plan to promote balanced development and proper coordination amongst diverse water uses. The plan shall include structural measures, operational measures, water-shed management measures and demand management measures such as water conservation, scarcity scheduling and efficient technologies. The plan will also cover water pollution control measures and monitoring measures that will assure comprehensive sustainable management of the water resources and equity in water distribution for the benefit for the state and its people. All River Basin Plans will be incorporated into the Integrated State Water Plan (ISWP), with due consideration to inter-basin
transfer wherever economically viable.
